Depression

Lying hidden inside me, been here from the start
Slowly crawling out of its cave, prepared to play its part
Infecting body and mind, suffocating the soul
Draining all happiness, removing every goal
Colors turn to dust, feelings fade away
Time slowing down, the world starts to sway
Empty eyes in the mirror, nothing here to see
Turning into history, is the only way to be free

Disclaimer: This poem was written during a difficult time in my life.
Writing was my way of expressing the sad, hurt and scary parts of myself, and trying to understand them.

If you feel vulnerable or in a tough state of mind, I encourage you to seek support and consider writing down your thoughts as a form of catharsis.
Don't let negative thoughts linger, as they can become an echo in your mind and, eventually, you may start to believe them.
